Everything's Under Control

Good afternoon Admissions team members! We are almost through with our Spring Break here at Six Flags New England and things are going great. Everyone has been doing a fan-tab-u-lous job!
We want to take a special moment this week to thank our lead Matt. Matt did a tremendous job refilling the water cooler in the Admissions Office.

Thanks Matt! We appreciate you and your urgency in keeping us hydrated! After our water cooler fiasco it was time for an in-prompt-to photo shoot!
Here is Michelle & Snoogals getting ready for break in the Admissions Office!

Here is Snoogals keeping the microwave oven warm in hopes that his meal will cook faster.

Oh hey! Here comes Jojo! They are such biffles!

Here is Dolores & Matt posing preciously Snoogals!

It's serious business time between Stephanie & Sara as they discuss serious important business like decisions.

Well that is it for this week's edition of the admissions blog! Stay tuned next week for another thrilling edition of At the Turnstiles!

Opening Weekend!

Opening weekend has arrived! The gates are open, the season passes are printing, the coasters are running, and our orange Discover card carpet has been rolled out! With the help of our new and returning admissions team members everything at the main gate opened smoothly. While we were all very busy we were able to snap some pictures from this opening weekend!

April 10th was our Go for Green Event! The park handed out plantable biodegradable book marks that will sprout Forget Me Not Flowers when planted. We had a performance at our Splash Water Falls Stage and we were also handing out reusable shopping bags for Big Y right inside the main gate. We noticed at one point during the day Snoogals went missing. After an hour or so he was located snoogaled inside a pile of Big Y bags.

Well that is all for this week's edition of the Admissions Blog! Stay tuned next week for another edition!

Pre-season is here!

Pre-season has already started here at SFNE! Trainings are underway, registers are ready to go, rides are test running, and Snoogals is keeping busy cleaning every inch of the main gate. This past weekend was the last day of early season pass processing. It was a great opportunity for guests to get their season passes processed before the park is open. Although it was mighty busy we were able to snap a few pics of the team members working down there.

Here is Andrea working hard processing season passes.

Here is Dan & Sara discussing season pass lanyards.

In addition to early season pass processing this weekend we also had our first Guest Relations training. From role playing to learning new systems our GR staff is well prepared for opening day! We were able to snap a few shots here as well!

Here is Supervisor Mike training some of the computer programs used in GR.

Here are Mike & Melissa getting absorbed into the material they are learning.

Role playing at it's finest!

Although our mascot Snoogals was not in attendance at GR training his picture was etched into the white board in the back office. Well that is for this week's edition of the Admissions Blog! We will do our best to keep on top of updating this puppy! T-Minus 11 days until we open!

Rehire Event!

The Six Flags New England Rehire event will be taking place next week on Friday January 29th 3pm-8pm & Saturday January 30th 9am-5pm. This event is for all team members who are in good standing with the park so that they can be rehired for the 2010 season. If you would like to set up an interview you can contact our Human Resource Office at 413-786-9300 ext. 3100. If you have a friend or family member who would like to also work at Six Flags New England, they can apply at http://www.sixflagsjobs.com/ and then schedule an interview for the rehire event as well! So snazzy. Because the photographer we normally book for blog pictures is out of town here is a picture of Sara & Jojo at last year's rehire event at Human Resources.

I'm sure they are both very excited to have their pictures on the Admissions Blog! Such an honor! Everyone in Operations is busy working away, but I wanted to tell you about the newest feature of the Admissions Department! We will be getting a. . . . . What's that Sara? . . .Oh it's a surprise? Never mind about that guys! I guess we will have to reveal that a little later in the future!

PRE-SEASON!

It has been a little over two months since Six Flags New England closed for it's 2009 season. 2010 is already underway and t he hustle and bustle of preseason has begun! Sara is busy working with the budget and getting everything ready for the Admissions department. Jojo has been working on the 2010 Admissions Trainings. And Snoogals. . . well Snoogals has not been doing a whole lot of anything lately except posing for pictures. Snoogals went through his rehire process yesterday with Kristin. Here is a picture of their intense meeting:

Snoogals received all 5's on his evaluation . . .well except for cleanliness/appearance. His first official task was to make sure all of Jojo's Admissions keys worked properly. So we sent him off. He first made sure the key to open the Admissions Office worked

Once inside the Admissions Office Snoogals began to reminisce about the 2009 season. There used to be hundreds of empty Coke Cans in the office. Now there is just one straggler that was left behind.

That old rust spot on top of the filing cabinet, still there and as rusty as ever.

WAIT?!? ARE THOSE FRESHLY MADE LEMUR TRACKS?? DO WE HAVE A SECOND LEMUR NOW????

Oh wait. It's just our beloved mascot Snoogals!

On his break Snoogals can be found on the pile of snow blocking off the Exit/Re-entry turnstile. He like to do some crazy jumps and burrow in the snow.

Snoogals then got back on track and headed over to Guest Relations to make sure the key worked there as well!

He then zoned out for quite a while atop his water cooler kingdom in the back room.

Well that is all from Snoogals' first official day of the 2010 season. Overall he is glad to be back. He also hopes that many of his friends from the 2009 season return in 2010! In fact the rehire event is coming up at the end of the month! The dates and times are January 29th 3pm-8pm & January 30th 9am-5pm. We will be calling you guys to set up an exact interview time during those days. We will hopefully see you all again next week!

So Lonely.......

Wow team it has been 12 days since we closed for the season and let us just say we are currently floating in a hurricane bay sized pool of sadness. Since the park has closed there have been a few small changes to our Admissions Department. Along with Jojo & Courtney working the Information Center we also have the addition of Mr. Rude. While he has great availability we are unsure how long Mr. Rude will last as he has accumulated quite a number of rude complaints in his short time here. Snoogals have been on a vacation this past week and we hope once he returns he will take all of Mr.Rude's hours.
One thing Mr. Rude is good at is taking pictures. We sent him out to the Main Gate to snap some photos.

Out at the Main Gate all you can hear is silence. . . . well except for that one Halloween sign that someone neglected to take down. That sign is still blowing strong and banging into every part of that metal detector.

ATTENTION! GLAMOROUS ANNOUNCEMENT!
Have you ever been unable fall asleep at night due to thinking about how you always wanted to be a Lead in the Admissions Department? Have you looked at the way the red lettering stood out on that white name tag and thought gosh. . . . if only that were me! Well now is your chance to be considered for a position of a Lead in the Admission Department! Candidates should be able to provide a flexible schedule in the summer of 2010. All Candidates must display a professional and mature demeanor at all times, provide superior service to all guests, and possess a strong safety focus on all aspects of the Admissions Department. Team Leads must oversee, enforce, and follow all safety standards set by Six Flags New England and the State of Massachusetts. Candidates are also expected to demonstrate proactive guest service in all areas of Admissions. If you are interested in being considered for filling a Lead position in our Admissions Department please contact the park at 413-786-9300 ext. 0 and ask for Sara from Admissions.

End of Season!

Good Afternoon Admissions team members! WHEW! Can you believe the 2009 season is over?? It seems like just yesterday we were stocking maps in the turnstile house, processing season passes, and hustling & bustling out in the booths & tolls. On behalf of Kristin, Sara, Jojo, Admissions Supervisors, & Snoogals we want to THANK YOU ALL for such an awesome season! You guys did a great job and our department would just not have been the same without each and every one of you! We hope to see you all at our rehire event in 2010!!

We would like to congratulate Robert for winning the ADMISSIONS WII EXTRAVAGANZA! Robert sold the most 2010 season passes during two of our weekends. The person who sold the most 2010 season passes each week had their name placed into a hat and today the winner was pulled. So congrats once more Robert!

After receiving his WII Robert proceeded to jump around the Operations porch in excitement for several minutes. Last time he was seen he was cartwheeling his way over to the preferred parking lot. Way to go Robert! Thanks to all of you who participated in this contest!

Although the park has not even been closed for 24 hours we have received several e-mails from our Admissions mascot Snoogals McGoogals. We decided to post one on here,

Dear Admissions,
It is with the uttermost sorrows that we must say goodbye for the winter. I am so sad this season is over that I resorted to eating peanuts all day. I will miss all of you dearly. I will miss mopping up the sticky soda on the floors of the selling booths after cans have been collected. I will miss sweeping up those little squares on the back of the sticky part of vip wristbands in the outermall. I will miss the season pass printers running out of ink and no one knowing how to replace the cartridge. I will miss lugging 20 pounds worth of wet towels & backpacks from water park guest relations to lost and found. I will miss the way the registers would freeze in the middle of a transaction when I would have a line out to the bridge. I will miss the way guests would ignore the "please do not place diapers in the trash" sign on the trash cans in the baby care center. I will miss guarding the water the cooler in guest relations. But above all I will miss all of my 2009 Admissions team members. You all made this season spectacular and I can only hope 2010 is just as grand! I will be wandering the park from time to time during the winter so make sure you check back here for some updates from me. I will miss you all and I hope that none of you forget me!!
-Snoogals McGoogals
